A glimpse into how my one-to-one programme works:
My aim is to take my clients through a shift that I describe in my work and books including Tired but Wired (Profile Books, 2010). I describe this trajectory as an ARC of Transformation:
Awareness

Session 1 (75 mins): Breaking the fatigue cycle
Metrics: This session includes a detailed assessment of stress, energy levels, resilience, time urgency and anxiety – factors that are causing a great deal of imbalance for my clients in these present fast paced and chaotic times. Clients will leave session with a good sense of where they are on the metrics, and we track their data in each subsequent session. This is especially helpful for those clients who want tangible, quantitative proof that they are progressing.
Quick wins: The practical element of the first session is key, and clients always leave the first session with actionable takeaways that they can implement immediately. This is important as often clients initially come to see me with sub optimal energy levels, nervous system dysregulation and/or poor sleep.
My aim in this first session is to enable a shift in awareness and to offer them choices that will break the fatigue cycle and reduce stress levels (measurably). This session is often a powerful catalyst for how the client journey will continue along the Transformation Arc.
Subsequent sessions (2-5):
Each session is 60 minutes
The second session is conducted within 7-10 days of the initial session and particularly if the data showed initial high stress levels. All metrics are tested again to see improvements or areas of stagnation. In these sessions I am looking to see that my client is in an Enhanced Resource State (ERS) with improved nervous system regulation. In this state they have the resources to go deeper, do the real work of what brought them to me in the first place.
My approach: Compassionate mentoring
My work with clients is tailored to the unique needs of each individual, combining evidence-based tools with compassionate insight to create lasting behavioral change and measurable improvements in wellbeing and performance. Some of my clients require additional support particularly after the initial sessions and we may have WhatsApp voice messages or brief email/phone check-ins to help them stay the course as they move to the enhanced resource state. Many clients will need only 2 or 3 sessions to get them on track while others may be seeking a longer journey of up to 7 to 10 sessions which are conducted bi-monthly.
